Jet Airways is one of the largest airlines in India. Based in Mumbai, with an international hub at Brussels Airport it serves over 50 domestic destinations and over 20 international destinations, in countries across Asia, Europe and North America. Jet began commercial flights in 1993 and rose to challenge the dominant Indian operators, fast becoming the go to airline for flights in India and to India. Jet has regularly won awards for its in-flight service and in-flight entertainment programme. After announcing a codeshare agreement with rival Indian operator Kingfisher Airlines, Jet then launched its low-cost brand, JetKonnect in 2009.
How to check in
You can check- in online or on your mobile phone from 48 to 2 hours before the scheduled flight time. You can then print your boarding pass at home before checking your luggage at the airport. You can also check-in at the airport using the check-in machines from around 2 and a half hours before departure avoiding long queues at the check-in counter. Other check-in options are also available. You can check in via Jet’s contact center and city offices. Check-in counters for Jet flights will be closed at 45 minutes prior departure for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights.
Baggage and Allowance Fees
Each passenger can carry on one bag and one personal item, such as a handbag, with a combined weight of no more than 15lbs/7kg. Carry-on baggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front and carry-on bags and checked in bags should adhere to certain dimensions according to aircraft type. Checked in baggage allowances vary depending on cabin and JetPrivilege membership tier. Jet Airways has revised its baggage allowance for travelers within India and for those whose journey begins from London. The Free Baggage Allowance on journeys originating from India to Europe, except London and Brussels, is 30kg in economy, premier 40kg and First class 50kg. Excess baggage charges apply.
On-line check-in allows you to select your preferred seat. Jet Airways flies wide-body jets where seating in First class is in closed suites with seats 30” wide. Economy has standard seats and business class has reclining seats. The narrow-body jets have 2 classes – business class with recliners and economy with standard seats.
Meals, Snacks and Drinks
Different categories of special meals are offered, such as meals for people with medical conditions, childrens’ meals and religious meals. Special meal choices should be booked while booking the ticket or at least 24 hours prior to flight departure. On JetKonnect flights an in-flight menu is also offered onboard, offering a wide selection of snacks, meals and drinks. Meals on JetKonnect are not included in your ticket price, but can be booked online at a discount.
