Air Transat flights

AirTransat is a Canadian Airline, and a subsidiary of the travel agent Transat. It’s the third largest airline in Canada, and its leading leisure carrier. AirTransat specialises in charter flights to a range of popular holiday destinations, and operates scheduled flights on selected routes. AirTransat is a seasonal airline, with different routes on offer at different times of the year. The majority of summer flights connect Canada with Europe, and during the winter season it boosts its routes to the Caribbean, USA, Mexico and Central America.

Air Transat has won a range of awards. In June 2014 it became the first North American Airline to be granted the IEnvA Environmental Certification, and in June 2013 was named the Best North American Leisure Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

How to Check In

Online check-in is available for travel from Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, London Gatwick, Rome, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Cancun, Punta Cana and Montego Bay. Travellers on other routes will have to check in at the Air Transat desk. Check in opens 24 hours before departure.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Economy passengers can bring one bag on board, weighing no more than 23kg and maximum dimensions of 158cm. Option Plus passengers can bring two bags with a total weight of 33kg. No piece should be bigger than 158cm. Club Class passengers can bring two bags with a total weight of 40kg, and no piece should exceed 158cm. Overweight bags will be charged £49. Additional bags can be purchased at £65 for the second, and £130 for subsequent bags.

Leg room on AirTransat is a generous 31-33” pitch in economy, and 34-36” in business class. You can select your seat upon booking or check-in.

No excess fees are levied during booking.

Meals, Snacks, Drinks

Complimentary meals are served on flights to Europe, and include a glass of wine. Economy passengers on other routes can purchase snacks and drinks from the on-board bistro menu. Complimentary soft drinks and hot beverages are offered on domestic flights within Canada.

On-Time Punctuality

Air Transat has a fairly good punctuality record, with around 65% of flights arriving and departing as scheduled.
